节选自美国作家Suzanne Fisher Staples 的小说Shabanu: Daughter of the Wind.

动作链也是高中读后续写中常用到的描写结构.
范本分析:
现在分词短语开头（-ing开头）表示伴随动作或状态：
Rubbing my eyes, I get up...（揉着眼睛，我起床...）
...putting one on my head and the other under my arm.（...把一个顶在头上，另一个夹在腋下。）
Keeping my eyes shut, I carefully rub...（紧闭双眼，我仔细地擦拭...）
这种结构通常用来描述与主句动作同时发生的另一个动作或背景状态，使几个动作无缝衔接，增加描述的层次感。
“To do...” 不定式短语表示目的：
To keep the mud out, I place a piece of cloth...（为了不让泥巴进去，我盖了一块布...）
直接、清晰地解释了“为什么这么做”，说明了动作的目的和动机。
“As/When/Until” 等连词引导的时间状语从句：
As I step into the water, the mud covers my feet.（当我踏入水中，泥巴淹没了我的脚。）
When the pot is full, I take it to the nearby bathing rock.（当罐子装满时，我把它拿到附近的沐浴石那儿。）
...rub the soap into my hair and skin until every drop of water is fully used.（...用肥皂搓洗头发和皮肤，直到每一滴水都用完。）
连词精确地表达了动作发生的时间顺序和条件关系（as 表示“当...时”， 强调同步；when 表示“在...之后”；until 表示“直到...为止”，强调动作 的终点）。

As（随着...） 在这里不仅表示时间上的同步，更建立了一种“因果关系”或“氛围铺垫”：正是因为水在迅速消失（环境的变化），所以我们才必须准备离开（人物的反应）。这种写法极具画面感和叙事性。
I can feel the heat as the water wets my head and my neck.
这是一个感官描写的经典句型。它直接将外部事件 (
the water wets my skin) 和内部感受 (feel the heat) 连接起来。这里的as可以同时理解为“当...时”和“因为”，充满了身临其境的感觉。
