1-1 The street glistened with fresh snow and the sky was a blameless blue. Snow blanketed every rooftop and weighed on the branches of the stunted mulberry trees that lined our street. Overnight, snow had nudged its way into every crack and gutter.
1-2 The park was covered in a thick blanket of white, statues peeked out under their new white caps, footsteps and paw prints crisscrossed each other around the labyrinth of paths. Aside from the brown of the denuded trees, the only other color was the vivid saffron staining around the base of each lamppost, tree and shrub.
1-3 The wind howled, piling up snow in drifts, blinding the night with ice-white dust. I walked bend over against the cold, protecting my eyes with my arms. Trees, posts, cowsheds loomed into my vision, then vanished, swallowed in white.
1-4 Breath pale against the numbing air, she blinked thoughtfully as the frost patiently kissed her face, captivated by the soft, dusty illusions of light that sat heavy on her eyelashes. She adored the snow, more so when it was falling.
1-5 It's dark now and the snow is still falling, clumps of wet flakes drifting windlessly down, the air moist, the sidewalk mushy underfoot.
1-6 New fallen snow, milk bottle top sized snowflakes drift lazily to earth on gentle breeze, crisp winter air, snow topped street lamps, paw prints heading for home, quickly covered by a pristine blanket of white.
02 The Description of Rain
2.1 Kissed by the rain and glistening, the wet ground is cold under foot. Stepping off the path and into the shaggy grass I feel the squelch of the mud beneath. The water rises up and runs between my toes. The birds busy themselves around me, not caring that I'm there, all they want is the worms that have come up for air.
2-2. Softly splashing water droplets hit the car windows as we drive onwards. The skies are overhung with a blanket of grey, so much so that I can barely tell the difference between the sky and clouds.

2-3. Darkened gray smudges of wool threateningly surrounded the sky, like a predator would encircle its prey. A startling low rumble rang loud in the cool fall air, the sky roaring with satisfaction. Trickles of liquid hit the ground with as much force as a small child. Gradually, drizzles turn into canon fires, barricading everything in its way.
2-4.A sense of cleanliness caresses the atmosphere, washing away all impurities. A dense earthly sweet smell rises from the ground, enveloping everything within its soft embrace.
2-5 The heavy rains have carved a miniature canyon in the path. Doubtless the soil was made soft by the gentle rainfall the previous week and so was no match for the sudden deluge . Hayley skips from side to side, thrilled with the new addition to the woodland walk.
2-6 Rain and tears mingle on my face, salty tracks blending into the fresh sky-fallen trickles. Only the pinkness of my eyes gives any clue to my sadness.

3-2 Then the moon appeared in all its elegant whiteness, lightening up the cloudless sky ;finally, moving more slowly, it cast on the surface of the river a large parch of light which glittered like an infinity of stars.

3-3 The once reddish and purple sky transformed into a vast expanse of jet-black that engulfed the town. A canopy of luminous stars materialized amongst the ocean of blackness.

3-4 .The lingering sunlight was obliterated by the rapidly falling night, resembling a pitch-black curtain draped over the sky.
3-5.The moon under siege by stars seemed to lighten the night bringing forth stars that shone and hung in the blackness. The never ending blackness consumed everything.

专题04 The Description of Dawn and Morning

4-3 Only an hour ago the blackness was absolute, but now the mist was visible, silvery. Against this backdrop the trees were silhouettes, still as an oil painting and darker than the ravens.
4-4 The sky was a billion pure eyes of light and the grass green underfoot, it was as if night and day had become one beautiful moment. Dawn had come.
4-5 The sun rises as a canopy of gold, bright amid the blue, bidding the stars to take their nightly rest. As darkness surrenders, every color changes from tinges of charcoal to the vibrancy.
4-6 The sky glows like a summer peach and the sun is pure gold in the sky. The colors of the foliage return to green and the air warms to an ambient twenty or so. It is the perfect dawn, one to be savored instead of squandered. Under this radiant beauty I can see the path ready for a meaningful day.
05 The Description of Noon and Sun
5-1 The sun was at it’s highest, like a vicious unblinking yellow eye stares down at me from the cloudless sky. The heat beat down on my head like I was bacon under the grill. I could almost smell myself cooking.
5-2 In England it's usually cold but not this day, today the sun was at full blast, and I just wished that someone would turn it down, I was dripping sweat from my head to my toe.
5-3 In the unrelenting glare of midday the only shadow is that which pools at my feet. The strong sun on my white hair will burn me in minutes if I don't find shelter.
5-4 In this heat even the trees appear defeated. Leaves that should be firm and upward tilting droop, flaccid as old lettuce. The soil isn't simply dry, but powdery to the touch.
5-5 At midday everything shuts down. The market holders have gone, the streets are bare. Even the police are gone, back the station. Who's going to rob now? Running at these temperatures would just bake your lungs.
5-6 I strolled up a large hill as the summer breeze pushed past. Looking up, I saw the sun shine brighter than I ever knew before. I saw a tree in the distance glisten gently as it reflected the sun's rays. My consciousness ebbed away with the heat. I took a few blinks before I landed with a thud.
06 The Description of Spring
6-1 The previously denuded branches offered their wands of tight green bud to the brilliant rays of spring. The wind had lost its bite, it had become ambient, congenial, blowing branches and tousling the hair of pedestrians - but no longer stealing their warmth.
6-2 Then spring came. The white blanket melted away, the evergreens and spruces scented the air with their new growth; the little streams rushed hither and thither as if they were joyfully caroling, birds sang and built everywhere. Children were out for wild flowers, and raced around like deers.
6-3 The new spring grass shot up as time itself had sped up. It drank in the rain that fell without pause and stretched toward the watery sunlight that illuminated each droplet.
6-4 The grass is a runner at the blocks, ready to race for the light as soon as the weather warms. Fresh sunlight illuminates perfect spheres of water upon its fine green wands. With the chorus of the birds above, this chill day already feels as if it has a touch of magic, as if anything may happen.
·6-5 The blossom arrives like cake frosting on the trees in delicious creams and pinks. The petals burst out from lower down the branches leaving the tips still in tight bud.
07 The Description of Autumn and Fallen Leaves
7-1 The autumn breeze tousled her hair and pinked her cheeks. The warmth that had been in the wind just last week had either evaporated into the sky or leached into the earth.
7-2 The leaves had almost all fallen off, creating a sea of fiery colors that crunched beneath our feet. The bare skeletons of the trees shivered in the crisp, autumn breeze and a few dried up leaves rolled across the walkway like tumbleweeds.
7-3 Autumn's hand was lying heavy on the hillsides. Crisp golden leaves lay like a blanket on the forest floor. Startled birds shot from the empty branches like a bullet, as twigs snapped and leaves crunched under my feet. The sun hung low in the sky, it's rays shining through the last few hanging leaves, illuminating the auburn, yellow and orange veins that ran through them.
7-4 Falling leaves fluttered down in the cool mid-autumn air, biding farewell to sweet summer and beckon the autumn in.
7-5 I remember the country, the country as it was, the wind dancing with the first autumn leaves, painted in all kinds of beautiful reds and oranges. I remember the vibrant world, the morning light peeking through my window, the world unfolding in vivid colors, truly alive.
7-6 The leaves crunched beneath my feet as I strolled down the street. Occasionally, one would fall past me, lightly swaying as the air gently carried it to the ground. The air was crisp, the kind of cold that made you feel alive when you breathed it in.

8-3 The birds were silhouettes against the orange-kissed heavens. Only an hour ago they would have been pale against a blue sky, but the twilight was advancing and soon they would be lost in blackness, roosting with head tucked under wing until dawn.
8-4 Short stubby beak, bright eyes like black onyx beads, alert, dainty head tilting this way and that, milk chocolate plumage, plump chest, shiny black wrinkled feet, a saggy fold of skin at the ankle, three thin toes forward and one back clasp the branch with sharp black talons, hopping, flitting from tree to tree.
8-5 The eagle dominates the sky as is his birthright, spreading wings as broad as they sky. His head is white in the sunlight, as bright as the clouds he glides between.
8-6 The birds flew through that ever developing canvas of the dawn, as if their wings were fine quills, drawing such buoyant hues. Those wings in that sky became the colors of my dreams and whenever I needed a memory to lift me off the ground, they were there.
8-7 Their white bodies soared across the skies. The silver linings of the clouds were being sliced by vast, beautiful wings. Their figures stood prominent in the bright blue above, with only small pockets of clouds to hide them.

专题09 The Description of Meadow
9-1 The meadow was a glorious expanse of grass and meadow flowers, grass rustling gently in the breeze. There was a narrow brook flowing through it choked with weeds. Tall water-mint with pale lilac flowers, like dozens of tiny bells were growing at the edge of the brook.
9-2 The meadow flowed like a sea of green over the hill ,studded with the purple of thistles. The two feet deep grass waved in the breeze. There were tracks running here and there that looked like some children had played hide and seek.
9-3 The meadow was on a gentle slope and interspersed with beech and oak trees. Waves of yellow cascaded down the grassy slope like so much white water over a river bed. On closer inspection I could see the clover and the honey bees who were merrily visiting each flower.
9-4 There was a shallow ditch at the edge of the meadow. The grass was thick and lush grass, growing in dense tussocks. The oak tree provided sun-flecked shade, a cool and refreshing respite from the mid-summer sun. The white umbrellas of cow parsley were becoming brown. The rutted track, once boggy was mud hardened and cracked. The meadow lay peaceful in the thickening light of late afternoon.
9-5 The bees come to our urban meadows, to the wildflowers we planted in our lawns. They buzz around the myriads of blooms, nature's music in these sunshine filled moments. The children run through the pathways they make as they play, giggling for all the fun it is to run in such tall grass.
10 The Description of Tree
10-1 The tree stood erect from the grass, its pink blossom blew away with a large gust of wind as graceful a dancing ballerina. The new leaves sparkled with the morning dew.
10-2 The treetops reached high above the ground, almost touching the sky. The thin branches swayed easily, translucent green leaves flapping around uncontrollably. The limbs looked like they were about to break when the plump young bird sat on one of the uppermost branches, seemingly completely oblivious to the winds battering about its sky high domain.
10-3 The tree stood out from the rest of the landscape, bathed in a bright angelic light. The sky, midnight blue, gave the scene a fairytale quality, and the stars that dotted the sky lit up the night. Everything was in awe of its beauty, even the rivers shushed in admiration.
10-4 The tree stood ghost-like, the silent observer of the snowy mountains, the river and the clouds. The only thing bigger than range of granite peaks was the midnight sky, dotted with silver and as vast as any eye could wander. Below stood a girl, made all the more tiny, her red dress flimsy in the wind.

11-3 The lake was surrounded by minor mountains and it sat like the regal crown of the earth.
11-4 The turbid water, swollen by the heavy rain, was rushing on rapidly below; and all the other sounds were lost in the noise of it's splashing and eddying against the green and slimy piles.
11-5 The crystal and cerulean water was gentle as I waded through it, the sunset like orange paint on a blue canvas. The water was clean and soft.
11-6 Shimmers moved across the deep green surface as if light itself could be blown by the wind. Rowan dipped her fingers in at the shore only to withdraw them just as fast. The opaque waters were icy even in the shallows.
11-7 The river has a strength that is reflected in the trees. It flows on with confidence, taking the form of the river bed, billions of drops moving together. The community of trees stands tall, trunks reaching into the blue above, light filtering through leaves like perfect stained glass.
