hostile敌意---被低估的词
hostile 很多人背单词就记得一个中文意思是“有敌意的"，那单词估计是很难去使用了。

"unfriendly"“antagonistic”
这个意思，但不一定要理解为"敌意"，其实也有不太喜欢的，不太友好的意思。
1）unfriendly and not liking something

她的父母公开表示对我不满。

2）not agreeing with something 对某事反感的，抗拒的
我并没有太抗拒改变现状这个想法。

3） 不利的

他感到自己处在一个充满敌意的环境中，孤立无援。

名词形式就是“敌对心理”

hostage 人质
Host/hospit-词根“外人”，“从外地来的陌生人”，既可能是友好的客人，也可能是不怀好意的敌人。
Hostage“被扣留的外人，陌生人”包括被敌人扣下的人质，以及主动送过去的人质。
hostile敌对的,host指的其实就是陌生人，对于遭遇陌生人自然会有一定的警惕和敌意，hostile单词原指对陌生人保持警惕，后来引申为怀有敌意的。
Host-/hospit-词根既然是外人，于是我们可以想到一些词汇，
host主人（接待别人的人）
Hospital 医院（以前指接待外地朝圣者的场所，后来逐渐演变为接待旅行者，流浪汉的慈善机构，又逐渐演变成现代医院）
